Mowing Crew Leader
Job Description: The Mowing Crew Leader will manage and work alongside a crew of 2 crew members/apprentices. The locations are a mix of commercial and residential properties.
The crew leader position is part educator, part leader, part skilled laborer:
An excellent candidate is keen to share their knowledge with the lawn care crew members, training and testing proficiency and offering in field training, as required.
This candidate will be a part of the leadership team at Lawn Ranger meeting on a regular basis with the other crew leaders and owner. They will be a part of decision making at the company, identifying potential new customers and projects, hiring crew members/apprentices, and creating and maintaining processes at the shop and yard. The leadership team will continuously review decisions and adjust as necessary, continual feedback will be provided and encouraged.
A great candidate has the experience and skill necessary to not only complete the job, but to be careful to budget well the estimated time and materials for project in order to meet time/materials goals.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead a crew of lawn care crew members on various projects and maintenance of properties
Ensure that daily route and projects are completed on time
Coordinate and communicate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
Oversee the lawn care team, including scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance
Provide guidance and training to crew members/apprentices as needed
Maintain accurate records of activities and expenses
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in lawn care or landscaping
Strong knowledge of lawn care processes, techniques, and materials
Experience in team management, time management & cost control
Strong spoken English
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Experience repairing small engine equipment a plus
Work Conditions:
Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
